Piano LessonsMusic & TheaterLearn piano this summer with Mrs. Campbell, a first grade teacher in Duluth who has been teaching piano lessons for over 30 years. She has taught through Community Education in Duluth, MN and in a large private studio. She played in the Duluth Superior Symphony Orchestra (cello) for 34 years and has taught music at times during her career. Additionally, she has taught through the Itasca Strings Program in Grand Rapids. Lessons are 30 minutes long on Wednesday afternoons between 12:30pm-4:00pm (The instructor will email you with the scheduled time) Lessons will be on Wednesdays: 6/17, 6/24, 7/8 & 7/15. If the teacher needs to reschedule, make-ups will be sometime during the week of July 13th. Additional $20 fee for lesson book paid to instructor at first class. If your child is enrolled in Learning Academy, they can attend during the Learning Academy scheduled time. Register and communicate this with the Learning Academy coordinator.Summer 2026 -
TREASURE ISLAND: A Musical Theater Adventure for Kids!Music & TheaterAhoy, mateys! Are you a strong, solid reader who loves to sing, dance, and perform? Then set sail for a summer of imagination, teamwork, and theatrical fun! We're bringing Treasure Island to life onstage at Minnesota North College in collaboration with Grand Rapids Players! Students will sing lively sea shanties, learn simple choreography, build memorable characters, and rehearse on the beautiful thrust stage of Chucker Auditorium in Davies Hall. By helping to build costumes, props, and set pieces—children gain hands-on experience in every aspect of production. Prefer behind-the-scenes magic? Students may choose to join the backstage crew, where they’ll help construct scenery, manage curtains and the fly system, and assist with lights and sound alongside technician Greg Johnson of the Reif Center. Directed by Sharon Marty, Jean Goad, Chelsey Jo Johnson, and Anna Kopacek.
