Boys Youth Basketball CampFitness & RecreationPlayers will learn the value of teamwork and sportsmanship in addition to having access to sound fundamental instruction. We are looking forward to a fun week of learning. Players will be divided by age and ability for stations, contests, and games. Players will receive a camp t-shirt. Players should bring a water bottle and wear gym shoes, shorts and a jersey/t-shirt daily. Description & Objectives It is our feeling that individual and team athletic success is largely determined by the athlete's mastery of the proper fundamentals of the sport. We also feel that the time and effort a player puts into learning the fundamentals and developing skills depends on the enjoyment he gets out of his participation.It is our objective to provide each camper with an enjoyable and worthwhile learning experience. Diving Lessons for Experienced DiversFitness & RecreationThis instructional diving camp is designed to introduce and develop foundational springboard diving skills in a safe, supportive and technique-focused environment. Divers will learn proper safety and body awareness, progressions for takeoffs and basic skills and fundamentals of diving form. You will leave with improved confidence, understanding of correct mechanics and clear steps for continued skill development. Coached by Addie Albrecht, 2x NCAA Championships qualifier, former Grand Rapids State Champion in diving and current member of the U of M Dive Team. GRG Lightning Lacrosse Youth CampFitness & RecreationCome play with us! This camp is for beginner and experienced players that are interested in learning lacrosse or advancing their game with the GRG high school players and coaching staff. Participants will be shown and practice the FUNdamentals of playing the game of lacrosse. Carrying the ball (cradling); passing; catching; playing defense; spacing; and being a great teammate are some skills covered. Small sided games, lots of fun and an encouraging atmosphere will prevail. If you have a stick and lacrosse goggles please bring, otherwise one will be provided. Kayak Fishing ExperienceFitness & RecreationExperience a three-day kayak fishing adventure! We’ll begin with kayaking essentials—safety, paddling techniques, and basic handling—before moving on to targeting the fish species found in O’Brien Reservoir, including bass, northern pike, perch, and panfish. Participants will learn effective fishing techniques. Equipment can be provided with advance notice. Students are encouraged to bring their own rods, reels, tackle, and life jackets. WaitlistShred Tioga Mountain Bike LessonsFitness & RecreationJoin us as we provide kids and families with a free and friendly welcome into the sport of mountain biking and as a way for families to spend more time outdoors together. This event will teach and encourage kids, both new and familiar with the sport, the techniques and trail awareness needed to have a good and safe time on their mountain bike. No bikes with training wheelsThis is a free event, but registration is required. Due to high demand this class will fill up quickly, be sure to register right away and get on the waitlist if class does fill up. This event is for children ages 2-13. Kids will be broken up by age and biking ability, and there will even be a group for the littlest groms on their striders. Check-in your rider from 5-5:15pm, for bike check, must pass: working brakes, shifts to ALL gears easily, proper tire pressure. Walk your rider to their station between 5:20 and 5:30 Communicate the exchange of custody with the leader Pick up your rider at their station at 7:30 and communicate the exchange of custody with the leader Parents of younger riders are welcome to watch the lesson A bike helmet, bike (or strider), and closed toe shoes (not sandals) are the only mandatory gear for participation. Speed & Strength TrainingFitness & RecreationThis program is for boys and girls going into grades 6-12. It's great way for you to increase your own physical health, increase your athletic ability, to gain an advantage against your opponents, and to build chemistry and trust with your teammates. It is a great way for you to do your part in making our teams successful! Weight room workouts will consist of a full body workout each day, with 3 core lifts (Squat, Bench, and Power Clean) and numerous auxiliary lifts. All weight lifting exercises will be age and skill appropriate and will be modified if needed. We also do Speed, Agility, and Plyometric exercises each day. The purpose of this program is to increase our overall athleticism by enhancing our strength, linear speed, agility, and power. We will do pre and post tests in a variety of areas- 3 cone drill, vertical, and 40 yard dash. We will also perform max outs in the weight room for our 3 core lifts at the end of the camp.We expect you to fully commit to this program if you are interested. You will get out what you put in. We expect you to be ready to work out when the session starts. DO NOT BE LATE- we warm up together! We expect you to encourage all other athletes during the workouts.Summer 2026 -
