The Deer River Boys & Girls Club offers summer programs for youth ages 6–18, focusing on character and leadership, education and career development, health and lifestyle, the arts, and physical fitness. Membership forms are available at the Boys and Girls Club or King Elementary School office.

This 30 hour class is required by law for students 15 years of age who want to get their driver's license. Permit test after class is completed, first hour of behind the wheel is included in class fee. Call Right Way Driving School, Larry at 218-327-4880 with questions. Power up is designed to provide academic support and interventions to students after school. Program is for students in grade 5-6. It's a LEGO party extravaganza! Join Colleen Bishop, "The LEGO Lady" for this fun event. Come build with LEGO, create a mini figure to take home, build a robot and give it a name, read a LEGO book, play LEGO trivia and win a LEGO prize. Learning Academy is designed to support students who learn in different ways or at a different pace from others in small group learning environments. Learning Academy serves students in grades 1-8 in extended day and summer programs that are designed to build skills in reading, math, and writing, as well as help students, develop better organizational and social skills.
