Get ready to explore, create, and get a little muddy! At this hands-on day camp, youth will dive into nature through art, science, and outdoor adventure. Campers will learn how to use a compass, uncover the world of trees, discover aquatic creatures, dig into soil health, and investigate insects up close. KinderCamp is a FREE opportunity for children starting Kindergarten this September, in Grand Rapids, with little to NO preschool experience. The goal of KinderCamp is to help make the transition into Kindergarten smoother for your child. During the four days, children will participate in large and small group activities within the classroom that promote early academics, learning and following rules, social and emotional learning, establishing routines, and cooperative play. Breakfast and lunch provided. Transportation provided if indicated on registration form.

KinderCamp is for all Nashwauk-Keewatin Kindergartners who are enrolled or planning to enroll in Kindergarten this fall - 2026. This camp will give our youngest students the opportunity to meet new friends who may be in their classrooms in September. It will involve many fun activities that will leave your child looking forward to his/her kindergarten experience. This will be a great chance for your child to become comfortable with the layout of the school, enjoy the playground, eat a snack and lunch in the lunchroom, and meet the kindergarten teachers. KinderCamp will be held at the Nashwauk-Keewatin School and will be under the supervision of our licensed kindergarten teachers. No bussing available. Families will be responsible for transportation.

Participants will have the chance to interact with live insects during this program while they learn all about their life cycles, adaptations, what they can tell us about water quality, and roles in the ecosystem. This program includes live invertebrates in interactive touch tanks. Come prepared to learn, explore, and possibly get a bit wet! Open to all ages. The Tech Hub is a youth center for ages 12-20 to explore technology after school hours. Technology available onsite include a recording studio, virtual reality, drone piloting, 3D printers, Xbox, and computers. Tech can also be used in art, creative projects, and design at the Hub.
