Ahoy, mateys! Are you a strong, solid reader who loves to sing, dance, and perform? Then set sail for a summer of imagination, teamwork, and theatrical fun! We're bringing Treasure Island to life onstage at Minnesota North College in collaboration with Grand Rapids Players! Students will sing lively sea shanties, learn simple choreography, build memorable characters, and rehearse on the beautiful thrust stage of Chucker Auditorium in Davies Hall. By helping to build costumes, props, and set pieces—children gain hands-on experience in every aspect of production. Prefer behind-the-scenes magic? Students may choose to join the backstage crew, where they’ll help construct scenery, manage curtains and the fly system, and assist with lights and sound alongside technician Greg Johnson of the Reif Center. Directed by Sharon Marty, Jean Goad, Chelsey Jo Johnson, and Anna Kopacek. The camp concludes with three public performances for family and community to enjoy on July 23 & 24.
