Join us every Second Saturday from 1:00-3:00pm at the MacRostie Art Center for free family orientated art activities with a new theme each month! Ages 4 and up. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Projects won’t take the entire 2 hours so staggered attendance is better to ensure space for everyone. Create a masterpiece together in this step-by-step art class designed for kids and their grown-ups. Each participant will take home their own canvas. Please register each child attending.

Youth Open Studio is a time designed for young artists to explore their creativity and independently work on their artwork. Open studio time offers a supportive environment where youth can spend time working on their own individual art projects with an instructor available to assist or answer questions. Students are encouraged to either bring their own supplies, or they can use supplies from the MAC. Ages 9-14.Instructor: Heather Pederson

Students in grades 2-6. Make a warm, cozy, fleece blanket to use on a cold winter day. No sewing needed! You will tie a 4' X 5' throw size blanket. All materials included. Fleece will be selected when you arrive.

Follow along with local artist and Pokemon enthusiast as he shows you how to create your own clay Pokemon! This project is great for students to develop skills for how to sculpt with clay and create their own models. All materials provided. Ages 6-16. Make your own creative art journal with paint, paper, and keepsakes! Play with several mixed media to experiment with textures, color, and draw and glue images, gel print, and paint to make your own personal artistic journal. This workshop is open to ages 12 to Adults

Try wheel throwing and sculptural clay work in a relaxed, creative space. Practice your wheel skills, try new forms, or create fun sculptures. This class welcomes youth from beginners to returning students. Materials are included. Ages 10–16.Instructor: Bruce Bartos & Heather Pederson

This class provides an opportunity for students to explore their creativity, learn new techniques, and express themselves through painting. Our engaging and supportive environment encourages students to experiment with colors, shapes, and textures, helping them develop both their artistic skills and confidence. Students will have the chance to work with different painting mediums such as acrylics and watercolors.
