Based in the Grand Rapids area where she grew up, Emily Libbey balances her work as a knitwear designer with her role in Marketing and Communications for Community Education. Emily started knitting at a young age but sewing quickly took over as the hobby of choice leading her to pursue an education in Fashion Design. After moving back to the area, not wanting to look at a sewing machine EVER again, she picked up knitting and hasn’t put down the needles since. Emily’s largest project to date was sewing and knitting her own wedding dress in 2021.  Along with knitting much smaller projects and writing/designing her own patterns, Emily has begun teaching knitting classes with Community Education. She enjoys teaching classes in hopes to grow the knitting community that has brought her so much joy and lifelong friendships.
